Wow, so many amazing things have happened the past few months! As you may have noticed, I have been active on Instagram, but have not published much content here on the blog. Honestly, life has been a little crazy, but the best kind of crazy! I am jumping back into full gear on the blog, and I thought I would give you all a little update so you know what has been going on in my life.

So many of you have been wanting a little story time about the day we got engaged (a.k.a. the best day of my life), so let’s rewind to March. The first week of March was when we had Spring Break. Austin was staying up in the town where we went to school for a majority of the break because he was working. I was also working, but back in our hometown, which is about an hour away from where he was. So we were apart for about a week, but he was finally coming home for the last few days of break, which I was so excited for!

On March 8th, he was going to be back in town and we planned on doing a date night of some kind. There is unfortunately not a place in our city that I can safely eat yet with my health, so my mom offered to put a roast in the crockpot for us for that night. She knows its hard for me that we can’t go eat somewhere nice, so that was really sweet of her to do.

Earlier that day, my mom and I were planning on shooting content for a campaign I was doing for International Women’s Day with one of my favorite brands Mejuri. When we shoot, we usually do it in the mornings, but my mom kept asking if later in the afternoon would be okay because she needed to stop into work and run a few errands that morning. I did not really think much of it and agreed that would be fine because Austin and I were not doing anything until later that day.

When we were out shooting, my mom kept getting texts and calls, which I thought was strange. I was honestly getting a little frustrated because she was very distracted, which usually does not happen. When we headed to the car to grab the last outfit we needed to shoot, I heard my name, and little do you know it was Austin! He’s not one to be hanging downtown by himself during the day, so I was really shocked and kind of confused to see him. I was of course so excited to see him, but asked him what he was doing down here and he replied, “I just wanted to come see you!”. I did not tell him where we were going to take photos, so I immediately felt nervous and knew something was going on.

He pulled me over to the sidewalk, grabbed my hands, and started saying the sweetest speech and all I could think was, “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!”. When I realized that he was truly proposing, I started tearing up and lost it a little bit when he got on one knee! This is the moment girls dream of all their life and it was happening right there in front of me! I obviously said yes, I could not stop hugging him, shaking, and asking if all of this was real and really happening! This month (June) we will have been together for 8 years, so I have known for a very long time that he was the man I wanted to marry and have by my side forever and I am so excited that I can officially say he will be.

After he proposed, we talked with my mom, my step dad, and his mom, who were there to witness the special moment.  Then, Austin and I went to grabbed a drink at one of my favorite places, The Carpenter Bar. That is where we got the picture below and our waiter was the first person that we got to tell that we just got engaged (beside or family of course!). He paid for our drinks, which was so so kind!

After our celebratory drinks, we headed to go tell our other family members the news. Then, when I thought we were going to my house to eat the roast my mom made for us, we headed in a completely different direction. We ended up at a nice hotel in town, where he and my family set up a beautiful dinner for the two of us! I was so surprised and honestly could not believe what was happening! That day was an absolute dream and I still cannot stop thinking about it! I cannot wait to continue doing life with Austin and for him to be my husband in a year!

The next life change that we have gone through together these past couple months is college graduation! For that we have to fast forward to May! The first weekend of May was when we graduated together, which was so special! We are both honestly so relieved that we have finished college and that we do not have to worry about it anymore! I will definitely miss those days with him, but it is time for us to move on from that chapter of our lives and start our new one.

I know so many of you wanted a life update and I also just wanted to share this exciting time in my life with you! I wish I could share the entire day of our engagement with you, so you could feel how special it truly was, but I tried my best to keep it short and sweet! I am so unbelievably happy about the changes that have been happening in my life these past few months and am so excited about what is to come! I am going to do my best to bring you guys along/update you on it all!

Here’s to enjoying all the happiness life throws us and allowing ourselves to really let it sink all in!

Thanks for stopping by, Lovely!

xx,

Jade
