Hey, Spring… we are all here impatiently waiting for you!

Although spring has not truly arrived for many of us (and it seems like we might just skip it at this point), I wanted to talk today on the blog about my must-have spring staples!

Staples are items that are not only the base of your wardrobe, but also its building blocks. They help to create endless and effortless outfit options! Staples are the pieces that will be in style for a very long period of time, and can easily be styled with other staples or fashion (trendy) items. To put it simply, they are the pieces that are always labeled “works well with others”!

When I think of staples I tend to think of lots of neutral goodness. So when shopping for staples, look for a color story that consists of tans, browns, blacks, whites, creams, and blushes. I also consider many denim washes to be staples since they are worn so often and can be paired with just about anything.

So what staples should you look for while shopping this spring? Well, here are a few of my must-have spring staples that will help you build effortlessly chic outfits!

T-Shirts: Basic t-shirts are more than a necessity for a wardrobe. They are the perfect thing to have on hand, especially if you are need to throw something under your denim jacket or if you unsure of what to wear. Throw on a white short-sleeved t-shirt, with a light-wash pair of denim, brown sandals, layered jewelry, and a fun bag…wa-lah you got yourself an effortless spring outfit! I think it is a good idea to have a white tee, black tee, blush tee, gray tee, and also a classic black and white striped tee.

Denim Jacket: Like I mentioned in my last post, if you are like me then spring is the denim jacket season. It is my go-to second layer and can be styled so nicely!

Neutral Purse: Having a bag that goes with everything is something you should never pass up! For spring, I have been loving a classic tote or crossbody in a tan or cognac color!

Button-Down Tops: This has been one of my favorite staples as of late! Although there have been a lot of trendy and brightly colored styles, having a classic white one or a white one with a neutral colored stripe is a must!

Light-Wash Denim: When I got to thinking about if light-wash denim was more of a staple or fashion item, I decided that they could really be considered both. Although I think that a specific light-wash shade could be trendy for a season, but I think light-wash denim as a whole are staple items for spring.

Neutral Slide Sandals: A neutral pair of sandals is an absolute must for spring and summer! Find a great quality pair that you can grab for all season long!

Neutral Ankle-Strap Heels: This kind of heel looks good with jeans, shorts, dresses, and skirts…so they literally look amazing with everything!! They are a classic shoe style that has simplicity that is sure to not go out of style anytime soon!

Although there could be a lot more things that I could consider spring must-haves, I think these items are crucial to your spring wardrobe! Not only will they help create outfits of simplicity, but they can be easily paired with fashion items to build a very trendy outfit!

Here is a collection of items that are my favorites from each of the pieces I mentioned here in the blog post! You can click on any of them to shop:

I am planning on creating a fashion item must-have post for spring as well! I was going to put the two subjects together in this blog post, but it started to get overwhelmingly long! So, that should be coming in the near future!

Anyways, I hope you are all enjoying your week so far! I apologize if I am a little M.I.A. from the blog and Instagram over the next few weeks. Right now is crunch time for my semester, so I will be trying my best to focus on school!

Thanks for stopping by, Lovely!!
