We are currently in the middle of a snow storm and I am on my “Spring Break”, so naturally I am dreaming about warm weather and wishing I was on the beach somewhere! How nice does that sound?? For now I will just wait around for another glimpse of Spring, and hope that this snow melts soon!
Although Spring is truly (and hopefully) around the corner, layering is still a major must! Sometimes it isn’t easy to make layering look cute though. So I am here to give you the basics you need to layer correctly.
Start with your base layers! This includes your pants and a more fitted top such as a long-sleeved t-shirt or turtleneck top. Having this layer be a little more fitted will help with warmth and allow you to add more layers without looking to bulky.
Next, is your second layer(s)! Here you can get creative and also adjust it with how warm you need to be. This part could consist of sweaters, jackets, and even cardigans. With my outfit above, I used my blazer as my second layer. But if I needed to be warmer, I could have added a sweater over my t-shirt and then layer my blazer over for my second layers. I love how my blazer added a pop of pattern and dimension to my outfit!
Finally is your outer layer! This is usually you warmest layer and will make the biggest statement since it is the most visible. I threw my blush faux fur coat to add color to the outfit and also add a little texture. Here is where you can also add scarves, hats, and mittens if needed.
I know this may seem simple, but I find it important to know! Layering can be so much fun if you just play around with it and pair different colors and textures together. Although I am ready for winter to be over, layering is something I will miss because it can be the true test of style and creativity.
All of my outfit details are linked below if you are interested!
Stay warm and safe in this storm, in the meantime, we will count down the days to Spring together!!
Thanks for stopping by, Lovely!!
