How to Style a Button-Up Top this Season

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

An airy button-up top screens this time of year to me.

They are perfect for cooler days and nights or just for a light layer. Not to mention they are such a classic piece that look good paired with so many different items. So, I thought in today’s blog post I would talk about a few ways that I would style them this season. Grab your rosé (mine happens to be in this beautiful can) and let’s get to styling!

1. Tucked into shorts or skirts: This is how I styled by button-up top in these photos and chose to do so with my favorite blush paper bag waist shorts. You could also choose to style your’s with a pair of high-waisted denim or even a high-waisted skirt. No matter what you choose for a bottom, your top will make the look bright and airy!

Outfit Idea: A slightly oversized white button-up top tucked in to light high-waisted shorts paired with cognac slides and a fun scarf for tying in the hair.

2. Tied in the front: Tied tops have been so in this season and you can easily recreate the popular look with your button-up top. Leave a few of the bottom buttons unbuttoned and tie the two sides of the shirt together in a double knot. I would also style this option with high-waisted bottoms since it can give a fun cropped look.

Outfit Idea: A striped button-up top tied into a cropped tie-front top, a high-waisted denim skirt, espadrilles, and layered gold jewelry.

3. Open and layered over a top: This is perfect for when you want an extra light layer or maybe don’t want to wear that revealing crop top alone (I feel you girl). It is a lighter option when compared to a denim jacket or cardi.

Outfit Idea: High-waisted denim shorts, a button-up top open and layered over a straight-neck bodysuit, and a pair of white sneakers.

Button-ups are a staple year round and help make outfits so easy. I hope this gives you a little inspiration on how you can style your button-up for the rest of spring and all of summer! Let me know below if you have any other favorite ways to style your’s!

Thanks for stopping by, Lovely!
