It is crazy to say it, but it is Thanksgiving Day! Where does the time go??
It seems like years go quicker each time they come around, and this one seems to be going especially fast. I am not quite sure how I feel about that, but that is a whole other blog post or two of me rambling on and on! I am actually quite a fan of Thanksgiving, and sad to see that its importance gets dulled by the anticipated holiday season, which seems to be earlier each year as well. It seems like after Halloween, we are pushed right into decking the halls and rocking around Christmas trees.
That kind of makes me sound like a Scrooge, but trust me that is not the case. I am actually the complete opposite, and would gladly deck my halls in Christmas decor and rock around any Christmas tree I see. Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year. I love everything that it brings with it, and am horribly sad when it is over. I am guilty of watching Christmas movies probably way too early in the year (a lot sooner than I am willing to admit to you guys haha), eating too may Christmas cookies, and listening to endless Christmas music throughout the season. I just think that we should not let all the loveliness and significance of Thanksgiving fade.
Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, and spending time with people in your life that you are thankful for. Holiday traditions come along with this and there a few traditions that I always look forward to when this special Thursday rolls around. One of my favorite things that my family and I have done for a long time now is waking up and having our coffee (when we were younger it was hot cocoa) and breakfast while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It is just a relaxing and cozy way to start the day!
We then usually go have a Thanksgiving meal with out extended family, which is always delicious! I will be honest though, I might have to hold back a tear or two as I have to walk past most of the yummy food with my body’s new intolerances and allergies. But, it is okay! Maybe I will have to make and bring some things for myself so I can still feast properly!
The day after Thanksgiving (or sometimes the night of Thanksgiving) is usually when we start decorating for Christmas, which is always one of my favorite things to do! My mom has always been amazing at making our home festive for the holiday season, and I look forward to it every year!
This outfit gave me some inspiration to share last minute Thanksgiving outfit ideas with you guys because sometimes holidays sneak up on us, and we do not have time to plan out an outfit or buy something new to wear. I actually ordered a sweater that I thought would be perfect for today, and of course it did not get here in time! So, I will probably be wearing one of the options I talk about below!
I always think that a dress is a safe way to go on a holiday! A flowy one is even better for Thursday, so you can feel comfortable to each all the yummy things!! I think a sweater dress is so fitting for the fall season, and can be styled to be perfect for Thanksgiving day! I paired mine with an olive moto jacket for an extra layer and a pop of color. I finished the outfit with my black over-the-knee boots. I kind of hate showing my legs in the cold months, so over-the-knee boots are one of my favorite ways to get by that!

Another classic and comfy outfit for Thanksgiving would simply be a sweater, comfy jeans, and killer booties! It is such a simple look, but is something so perfect for this holiday! Picture this: a camel colored sweater, a dark-washed distressed pair of denim, and your favorite pointed-toe booties! Add a crossbody bag and some dainty jewelry to finish off the look!
